The good news is: Robot vacuum and mop combos ? can make these dreams come true. They clean your house automatically and reliably, so you won’t have to raise a finger!
We tested and compared all the best robot vacuum and mop combos in the UK.
Now we meticulously reveal all their differences and similarities.
Read on to find out which robot vacuum mop fits best to your needs.?
The test winner: It’s the best robot vacuum and mop combo on the market that convinces with numerous improvements of the mopping feature.
Vibrating mopping mode (Sonic Mopping), liftable mopping plate for carpets (VibraRise) and an extra “Deep cleaning” mopping mode.
The Roborock S7 came out with flying colours in pretty much every test category.
But the mopping function is the icing on the cake. Let’s take a look at the most innovative features.
The vibrating mopping plate (sonic mopping) simulates "scrubbing movements". With this, the robot can clean up even more stubborn stains more easily.
The Roborock S7 can also put more pressure on the mop, thanks to its higher weight (~ 5 kg) and additional contact pressure of 580 grams.
The robot automatically lifts the mopping plate (VibraRise) when it drives over a carpet (and whenever it’s at the charging dock).
The more often we "mop over" a spot, the better the result.
The Roborock S7 adopts this principle with the "Deep Cleaning Mode”.
It runs each track twice and also reduces the distances between the tracks.
"Regular" mopping mode
"Deep Cleaning" Mode
You can see a huge difference when looking at the cleaning trips in “normal mode" vs "deep cleaning mode" in the app.
The Roborock S7’s mop is very fluffy and can absorb a lot of water (and dirt).
Read more about that in our detailed Roborock S7 review.
"A good robot vacuum with a premium mopping function".
The vibrating mopping system of the OZMO Pro 1.0 ensures a good mopping result.
The Deebot OZMO T8 AIVI has many innovative features to offer:
But the mopping function is the highlight. The vibrating OZMO Pro 1.0 mopping technology simulates actual "scrubbing" movements.
The delivery scope includes disposable mops (2) and a fluffy reusable mopping cloth (1). You’re spoilt for choice here.
Also, worth mentioning: The delivery scope includes a vibrating water tank and an ordinary water tank. So you can choose how the robot vacuum should mop your home:
Great mopping result |
|
Top cleaning performance on hard floors and carpets |
|
Automatic obstacle avoidance thanks to AIVI technology |
|
Innovative surveillance camera function |
|
Optional: Auto-empty station |
Certainly no option for bargain hunters |
|
Automatic obstacle avoidance doesn’t work 100% reliably yet |
|
No underlay for the charging dock (to protect the floor from the wet mop) in the delivery scope |
"The little brother of the Ecovacs Deebot T8 AIVI+".
The Deebot OZMO T8+ also has a vibrating mopping function that ensures excellent mopping results.
The Ecovacs Deebot OZMO T8 also has a good mopping function, Just like its big brother (T8 AIVI).
It’s got the vibrating water tank (OZMO Pro) for a noticeably better mopping result.
A slight disadvantage: The delivery scope doesn’t include a reusable mopping pad. The disposable cloths supplied aren’t of high quality, so you have to replace them after a few mopping trips.
But there’s a solution at hand: Even though there’s no reusable mop for the T8 available for purchase, you can use the mop of the Ecovacs Deebot N8 instead (available here*). It covers 95 % of the mopping plate, which still ensures excellent mopping results.

You don’t want to dig too deep into your pocket for a robot vacuum mop combo?
No problem! Below, you can see cheap alternatives for the smaller purse.?
The Roborock S5 Max convinced with powerful suction, an excellent mobile app (Wi-fi connection needed) and precise and seamless laser navigation in our test.
But what’s the mopping performance like?
The water tank has a capacity of 290 ml. According to the manufacturer, the robot can mop an area of 200 m² at a stretch with one water filling at the lowest water intensity level. The Roborock S5 Max is therefore also suitable for more extensive flats.
You can set the water intensity in 4 levels via app control. You can also choose the water intensity for each room individually, depending on the floor type or degree of contamination.
Now you have maximum flexibility so that you can adjust the mopping performance to individual needs.
There’s also a spring construction that creates a constant contact pressure on the mopping cloth to improve the mopping performance.
The mopping performance itself is convincing. The robot vacuum cleaner frees the floor from light dirt and dust and leaves a nice damp track behind it.
The delivery scope includes a transparent plastic mat. It protects the hardwood floors from the wet mop whenever the Roborock S5 Max docks at the charging station after mopping.
You get a complete package with the Roborock S5 Max that leaves almost nothing to be desired... and that at an acceptable price!
The Deebot OZMO 950 from Ecovacs is a great robot vacuum cleaner.
The mopping function also worked very well during the test. Especially on tiles and hardwood floors, the result was excellent.
It could easily clean our 80 m² flat at a stretch since it has a water tank with a 200 ml capacity.
The Deebot OZMO 950 has a patented electric water pump. You can set the water intensity via the mobile phone app in 4 levels (low, medium, high and very high) for each room.
Unfortunately, there’s no transparent waterproof pad in the delivery scope. That means that the floor is exposed to the wet mop when charging the battery.
But no worries. You can simply buy a suitable plastic mat on Amazon* UK or at a DIY store for little money.
What the OZMO 950 can offer is an active carpet detection function.
The robot reliably avoids carpets as soon as the water tank is attached. A great function!
Long story short: The Deebot OZMO 950 is a rock-solid robot vacuum mop hybrid at a very fair price.
Robot vacuum mop combos become more and more popular in the UK.
And that with good reason. These hybrid models have numerous advantages.
Imagine you are sitting on the train. You spontaneously arrange to meet friends.
But unfortunately, your flat is neither vacuumed nor mopped...
No problem. Just open the app and let your industrious housekeeper do the work entirely without your intervention. Then, when you arrive home, the floor is sparkling clean.
Very practical and comfortable!
The mopping robot vacuum have an unbeatable feature.
The hybrid models vacuum and mop the floor in one go. That makes the cleaning process much shorter and hard to beat in terms of efficiency.
I guess we all agree that a complete floor cleaning of the home is highly exhausting. For example, it takes at least 2 hours to vacuum and mop the floor in our 80 m² flat.
Pretty much every bone in your body hurts when you’re finally done. You're exhausted and just want to relax on the couch.
... And that’s not the end of it: It’s also not good for your back and joints.
Because now, you'll never have to vacuum or mop again. Your faithful robot vacuum will do the work for you.
A reasonably good robot vacuum already frees your flat from coarse dirt.
But what about mopping?
A robotic vacuum with mop hybrid does both at the same time. That means it won’t just vacuum your home, but also remove coarse dirt and dust via mopping.
The floors are sparkling clean once the robot’s done. It’ll smell fresh, and the home just feels cleaner.
A robotic vacuum with mop combo has an almost unbeatable price-performance ratio.
There’s no significant price difference to robot vacuum cleaners WITHOUT a mopping feature.
... and just think about the acquisition costs for a reasonably good mopping robot.
If you want to get a robot vacuum that mops, you virtually get the mopping feature as an "extra" almost for free.
That’s what we call a good deal! ?
Especially for allergy sufferers, a 2-in-1 device could be an exciting alternative.
A halfway decent robot vacuum cleans the flat very well and won’t leave much dirt behind, right?
That's what we thought, and we were wrong.
We were surprised how much dust and dirt our robotic vacuum with mop hybrid still mopped off the floor during our test.
This is what the mop looked like after it mopped the vacuumed bedroom.
You have mostly laminate, parquet, tiles or PVC at home?
That’s the perfect terrain for a robotic vacuum with mop!
These hardwood floors should be mopped regularly.
Mopping Robot Vacuums feel right at home on hard floors and take care of that, making your house even cleaner.
A robot vacuum with a mopping feature is very suitable for homes with mostly hard floors!
The robot vacuum with a mopping feature works brilliantly on hardwood floors.
However, a carpet is still quite challenging for them.
After all, we don't want the robot to drag the dirty, wet mop across the beautiful white carpet.
The manufacturers acknowledged that problem and found a solution:
If the vacuum-mopping robot of your choice doesn’t have the features, you can also set up virtual boundaries.
This way, the robot vacuum avoids the carpet when it mops the floor. Problem solved!
One thing’s for sure: It’s super annoying if you end up with the wrong device that’s not suitable for cleaning your home.
To avoid this, you should consider the following criteria before buying a robot vacuum with a mopping function:
Let’s take a closer look at each point now.?
Let’s get this straight: We’re looking at a robotic vacuum (with a mopping feature)! This means that the 2-in-1 devices that we tested here must first and foremost be good vacuum cleaners.
The mopping function is an essential feature of a hybrid device but by far not the most important.
We think of the mopping feature as a kind of "bonus".
Long story short: While mopping performance is very important, it’s not a priority.
In addition to the suction power, the mopping performance of a hybrid model must also be convincing.
But you can’t compare the mopping performance of a robot with the result of mopping by hand.
So, is the mopping function useless and a gimmick?
Definitely not.
If you look at it from this perspective, you’re doing an injustice to the robot vacuums with a mopping feature. You’d be comparing apples with oranges.
Instead, you should see the mopping feature as an automated, improved dust mopping. It frees the floor from the last remnants of dust and light dirt.
That's what the robot vacuums with a mopping feature are made for. And they do an excellent job here.
The mopping function of the 2-in-1 models can show its full potential on hard floors (laminate/tiles/PVC).
If you have sensitive floors such as a parquet, make sure that you can set the water intensity level for the robot via app control (wi-fi connectivity needed). Then, you can reduce the water intensity for the sensitive floor and protect the floor.
An important factor of a good robot vacuum mop combo is the size of the water tank.
If the water tank is relatively small, the robot can mop only small places.
And nobody wants to refill the water tank constantly...
Thus, the water tank size is decisive for how much living space the robot can mop at a time.
Another critical factor is "water regulation".
It determines the water consumption. It’s pretty self-explanatory: If you choose a high level, the water tank will empty more quickly.
You can set the water intensity level manually or via the app.
As soon as the robot has finished mopping, it returns to the docking station to charge the battery.
Some manufacturers include a transparent plastic mat in the delivery scope. It protects the floor from the wet mop when the robot docks at the charging station.
It prevents that a puddle forms under your robot or that the floor gets damaged by the wet mop.
Therefore, you should make sure that the robot vacuum comes with a protection mat when buying.
The robot vacuum will take a considerable amount of work off your hands for the next few years.
Therefore, you should consider the purchase as a long-term investment. It’s not about finding the cheapest option, but about buying a premium device at a reasonable price.
After all, the little housekeeper is supposed to take a burden off your shoulders and not create additional work, right?
A robot vacuum does what its name suggests: it vacuums your home. The iRobot Roomba S9 or iRobot Roomba i7+, for example, are robot vacuums that only vacuum.
You’ll have to mop the floors yourself or get a separate mopping robot for this task.
Pure mopping robots only mop the floor in your home. (e.g. iRobot Braava Jet m6* from iRobot)
Disadvantage:
Advantage:
You can also call a robot vacuum with a mop a hybrid model, a combo device or a 2-in-1 model.
This is because a robot combines both features (vacuuming and mopping) in one device.
The focus of these devices is clearly on vacuuming performance.
It also mops the floor and frees it from light dirt and dust.
This way, the mopping feature ensures more cleanliness in your home.
It may seem a little complicated at first glance.
A robot… that vacuums... and also mops?
But it's pretty straightforward.
Most combo devices have two separate containers. A dustbin to collect the coarse dirt...
And a water tank that dampens the mop with water.
The cloth is attached to the bottom of the robot vacuum behind the suction opening.
This way, the robot transports the coarse dirt first with the side brushes towards the suction opening. Then it mops the floor with the damp mop.
So simple but ingenious at the same time. ?
The water from the water tank dampens the mop through special openings.
The modern vacuum-mopping robots usually have active water regulation. Active water regulation means that you can choose how much water the robot supplies to the mop. You can set it via a switch on the water tank or the mobile phone app.
This way, you can adjust the mopping performance to the specific floor type and the degree of soiling.
The mopping trace may look like this after a couple of cleaning trips:
That might happen because the nozzles on the water tank are clogged/calcified so that hardly any water gets from the water tank to the mop.
But don't worry, you can quickly fix the problem in two simple steps.
(1) Put a little vinegar into the full water tank and let the robot clean your home. That should dissolve any calcification.
(2) Carefully pierce the opening on the water tank and on the robot vacuum with a thin needle to remove possible "blockages".
That should do the job, so your robot vacuum will leave a nice mopping trace as usual ?.
What good are the robot vacuums with a mopping function?
Does it give your floors a tad more cleanliness, or is it more of an (expensive) gimmick?
We made it pretty clear in the previous chapters that the suction power convinced us during the test.
But can the mopping feature keep up with that?
Long story short: Even the best robot vacuums with a mopping function are currently no substitute for thorough mopping by hand.
The weight of the robot is simply too low for this.
This means that you still have to remove stains that have dried for days by hand or with a classic mop.
But that’s not the goal of a 2-in-1 robot vacuum.
As we have seen, the hybrid models do a wonderful job within their capabilities.
The robots remove the last remnants of dust and dirt with their damp mop. It’s the "icing on the cake" of automated daily floor cleaning?.
We think that robot vacuum mop hybrids ensure more cleanliness and more well-being in your home ?.
You want to improve the mopping result a little? Then take a look at our tips & tricks below.?
We put together a few tips and tricks if you want to get a bit more out of the mopping function.
Make sure that you clean the flat thoroughly before the first mopping.
Then your 2-in-1 robot vacuum and mop will have an optimal starting point.
Now it's time to let the robot keep up the level of cleanliness!
Even the best vacuum-mopping robot doesn't stand a chance if the floor is super dirty.
The more often the robot mops the flat, the cleaner your home will be.
Water with a high lime content not only leads to worse mopping results (stains/streaks on the floor), it could also clog the water outlet nozzles.
If your tap water has a very high lime content, it might be better to run the water through a filter first.
That trick is pretty apparent: Simply add some detergent to the water tank.
You’ll quickly see an improvement in the cleaning result.
But be careful...
...not all cleaning agents are suitable for a robot vacuum’s water tank.
The water tank is usually made of relatively thin plastic, which is why an aggressive floor cleaner could damage the water tank.
Furthermore, a highly chemical floor cleaner could clog the water nozzles. It could also invalidate the manufacturer’s warranty.
You must use a suitable floor cleaner*. You're able to find a lot of products on Amazon UK.
Please make sure that it is a compatible cleaning agent.
The following are safe to use:
Finally, we recommend paying close attention to the ratio.
Please mix only a tiny amount of a compatible floor cleaner into the cold water in the water tank.
You can usually find the appropriate ratio in the product description of the cleaning agent.
Just follow these tips to be on the safe side, and your cleaning results will improve.
The flat just smells fresher and is a tad cleaner.
PS: If the manufacturer explicitly prohibits cleaning agents in the operating instructions, you should also comply with them.
The measures listed above aren’t a recommendation for action!
You don't want to add the floor cleaner to the water tank?
No problem!
Alternatively, you can put the cleaner onto the mop (or directly on the floor).
That’ll also improve the mopping result.
Sometimes, it takes a few minutes until the mop absorbs enough water to dampen the floor properly.
If you want to see a damp trace on the floor from the beginning, you should hold the mop briefly under running water.
Then the mop will be wet enough for optimal mopping results right from the start of the cleaning.
We were surprised at how much dirt and grime the mop collects over time...
And we thought our flat was already clean!
Therefore, it’s all the more important to clean the mop thoroughly.
We recommend washing the mop regularly in the washing machine at 40 degrees.
You can also thoroughly rinse the mop under hot water after each cleaning (or even during the trip).
We recommend changing the mop after each cleaning run.
Thus, you should have several mops at home.
You can always buy a mop online* on Amazon UK.
Moisture can form inside the device if you leave the water tank attached to the robot all the time.
That’s not hygienic in the long run. It could even lead to mould in the water tank in extreme cases.
We surely don’t want that.
Then place the water tank upside down on the windowsill to dry.
You can reattach the water tank once it’s completely dry after approx. 2-3 hours.
Then everything’s clean, and the robot can get back to work. ?
This tip may sound obvious, but it helps.
It always does the trick for us.
The kitchen floor sometimes looks very dirty after we cooked dinner.
Then it takes the little housekeeper a few more times to clean it all up.
And indeed, if you mop a heavily soiled floor several times, the result improves.
Oh yes, and don’t forget to switch to the highest water intensity level to ensure a better result.
Now our insider tip.
You can use a microfibre cloth to increase the contact pressure...
... and tuck it under the mop.
You’ll see a significant improvement in the mopping result!
You can buy such a cloth* online for little money on Amazon UK.

Take a look at our detailed reviews if you want to find out more about the individual models.?
Robot vacuum and mop hybrids become more and more popular. We’ve also reviewed many of them...
We can confirm: Hybrid models are very good at what they do.
They vacuum and mop ? your flat at the same time.
That gives your home a tad more cleanliness and ensures even more well-being. ?
There are no Roomba robotic vacuums for sale that can clean your floor and mop it at the same time.
But there are also some Roomba mopping robots in the market. iRobot Braava Jet m6* is one of them.
The Roborock S6 is the predecessor of the Roborock S5 Max.
The suction power, the mobile app...
...The Roborock S5 Max and the Roborock S6 are pretty much on par here. They both do a great job.
The mopping function, on the other hand, is somewhat inferior compared to the Roborock S5 Max.
Firstly, you can’t set the water intensity level via the mobile phone app. Instead, you have to select one of the two levels (little and maximum) via a switch on the water tank.
It’s certainly much smarter to set the water supply via a mobile phone app. Nevertheless, the switch works surprisingly well with the Roborock S6.
Furthermore, the S6’s water tank has a capacity of 150 ml, which is significantly smaller than that of the Roborock S5 Max. So it almost didn’t make it to mop our 80 m² flat with one water filling at a stretch.
The transparent plastic mat, which you have to clamp under the charging station to protect your floor from the wet mop, is of high quality. You can easily attach it to the charging station with the help of a click mechanism.
The mopping function fulfils its purpose - The robot removes minor dirt and last dust residues with it, ensuring more well-being at home.
The overall package of the Roborock S6 is convincing. It’s a good robot vacuum with a decent mopping function as a bonus.
Neato Robotics currently manufactures only pure robot vacuums. There are no mopping robots or vacuum-mopping robots from Neato on the market.
Vorwerk is mainly known for its cordless vacuum cleaners (e.g. Vorwerk VB100) and kitchen appliances (Thermomix). The German premium manufacturer’s product range doesn’t include pure mopping robots or vacuum-mopping robots.
Everybody knows the premium cordless vacuum cleaners from Dyson. The UK manufacturer also offers a robot vacuum (Dyson 360 Heurist) , but so far, Dyson doesn’t include mopping robots or vacuum-mopping robots in its product range.
No, Bosch doesn’t manufacture pure mopping robots or combo devices.
No. So far, AEG only has robot vacuum cleaners.
Eufy has several robot vacuum cleaners on the market. Eufy robovac devices are primarily known for their excellent price-performance ratio.
Unfortunately, we haven’t tested any Eufy robovac models so far, so we cannot form an opinion on their hybrid models.
Yes. Such kind of devices exist.
